Dalam masa karantina, seperti yang dialami banyak bisnis, kami mengalami pula pace yang lebih lambat baik dalam masuknya order maupun penjualan. Kami pikir waktu luang ini bagus digunakan untuk melanjutkan proyek beres-beres perca yang beberapa bulan lalu dimulai namun sempat terhenti. Menghabiskan lebih banyak lagi waktu dirumah, saya(Fili) mulai melirik kembali isi lemari dan sudut-sudut ruangan yang berisi kantong tumpukan perca. Dimulai dengan membuka-buka Pinterest untuk mencari ide, akhirnya diputuskan untuk membuat bendera Garland. Bendera Garland biasanya digunakan untuk dekorasi ruangan dan juga pada acara-acara khusus seperti pesta ulang tahun, dll.

Tutorial: Milk Box to Pencil Case

It's been ages since the last time we made any tutorial. This time, we made a pretty basic DIY project that has been done for million times, but this time, we use scrap fabrics instead of paper or fabrics.

Before you ask, no, we are not paid by Greenfields. I'm just too lazy to censor the brand of the milk. 

My desk in the office is pretty dull. Nothing colourful nor fancy on top of the desk. Then I thought, why not making something that's pretty useful yet looks... different? So I took this milk box from my office's trash bin, cleaned it, dried it, brought it back home. Combined with scrap fabrics that I had, voila! This is the result.

The "ingredients"

Hola!

This is Fili and Lino, doing a combined post for a sewing - recycle project!

Once upon a time, when Lino was just learnt how to sew, she often wonder around op shops (Vinnies and Salvos) to find some bargain fabrics. She found a around 1.5 x. 1.5 m of red white stripe light jersey fabric for only $2. She then combined it with Chinese linen, a lovely fuchsia from Lincraft. Some blog search on how to make an easy dress, voila, this is the result!

Recycle Jeans/Denim Backpack Tutorial

I must warn you guys before you decide to read this tutorial. There will be a lot of pictures involved here, so be prepared.

Those red shirts!

A friend of mine was about to leave for 1.5 years. She asked me to make something for her from her old shirts. She gave me two medium and large size shirts. These are the shirts.



She asked me to make a laptop softcase (not a bag), a pencil case and a throw-everything-inside pouch.

Voila! Here are the results :)

The pouch. I retained the pocket and the button. I also added a D-ring in case she needs to attach something to the pouch.

The pencil case. She asked me to make a double zipper pencil case.

The padded soft case. Again, I retain the button and the pocket. I also added a little twist by positioning the flap diagonally.

So, here they are. Enjoy!

Custom order: Recycled Jeans Bag

Hello everyone :D

I received a custom order to recycle my friend's old jeans. She had the jeans since her primary school era.

She wanted to keep the details on the knee for the bag.

I kept the detail for the flap.

Recycled: Father old vest

Hello it's Fili again :)


I posted this on my private journal but since it was friends-locked, I'll post it again here. I recycled my father old vest into a teddy bear one year ago. I was a *little* bad girl at that time: I didn't ask his permission, so when I started cut the vest, my father saw. He was sighing so deeply, he said "I had a lot of memories in it". After this incident, I got a lesson to not cut someone's clothes before asking their permission.

I love the colours and the stripe pattern. Since the vest was no longer worn by us *it was inherited from my father to his son and daughter, including me*, so I decided to make a teddy bear from it. It wasn't very neat. It was one of my earliest teddy bear that I made it's not that I'm already good at it now but at least it's neater now than before   ^^;

Sorry there was no picture of the vest. I rarely took any picture of the process at that time. Because the vest is not really big so I added other fabric to complete the parts. I think I choose the wrong colour because it's not really matched with the vest.

Jointed hands and legs.

For the final touch, I added a ribbon to the bear.

Laptop Case from Old Jeans and Pajamas

My computer is in need of a (cute) laptop case. With hundreds of laptop case tutorials that I found on the internet, I decided to make one of it. My laptop case is just an ordinary case. However, it's special to me because I used my already torn fav jeans and pajama. I also fell in love with the fabric combination, which makes it more special for me.

For the fastener, I used a black long velcro on the flap. I also added some pocket with elastic on the front so I can put the power supply and other stuffs in it. Unfortunately, the pocket is just too low. When I used the bag, I was afraid that the stuffs that I put inside the pocket will come out. Thank God it didn't, but still... For the strap, I only use the usual webbing that I always use. However, I attach it to a clasp, so I can use the case without the strap.

Yesterday, I used this case a bag. It's possible, but the shape didn't turn out very good. It seems I used the wrong foam for the interfacing. And if I want to make it as a bag too, I should make a small pocket inside. I can't live without inside pocket! I need a safe place where I can put my small things easily.

So, here it is, Lino's not very new laptop case :D

Recycled Jeans Bag

Morning, Fili here :)


About a week ago, I had a day off. I decided to spent a quality time for myself: I made a bag from a jeans that I couldn't use any more.

It was gift from my sister and it was very lovely, so I didn't want to give it or throw it away. Because my previous bag is already dull, I decided to make a new bag from this jeans. Plus, I've wanted to do this for quite a time. The plan is to transform this jeans into a backpack. First, I cut the jeans into several parts and split the back pockets so I could use it for new pockets in the front.

The other part of the jeans was used for the bag handles and the flap. Because the jeans itself was not big enough, I added extra fabrics to complete this bag, a flowery one. I wanted  to add some colour to this bag :)

I also added two knots on both sides so I can upgrade the size of the bag.

The back is shadowed, caused by the removed pocket ^^;. This bag can keep a lot of stuff but because I just follow the original form and didn't add any linings, it is not sturdy enough. When the bag is full, it turns into a big pillow...lol.
